Install
It installs for your user only, so Windows does not ask for an administrator. The Start menu entry is Vaitly Voice.
Windows asks once. There is no accessibility permission to grant, unlike the Mac. The speech model downloads on the first run, then dictation works offline.
Right Ctrl, or any key you record. Let go, and the words appear where the cursor is.
What you get
Windows runs the same on-device recognition as the Mac app. Your vocabulary and snippets behave the same way, because it is the same pipeline.
A paid plan covers 5 devices, and they do not have to match. A Mac at work and a PC at home is one plan, and a plan bought on either works on both.
Right Ctrl, suggested on the first run, held down or double-tapped to latch. Record any key you prefer, including the macro keys on a programmable keyboard.
Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Chrome, Visual Studio, the terminal. Text lands where the cursor is.
Dictation starts without an account. An account exists only to carry a plan between machines.
Speech is transcribed on the PC and the audio is not uploaded, so dictation keeps working with the network off once the model has downloaded.
Honest limits
One app, Free or Pro. The Windows app has the same plans as the Mac: Free for dictation, or Pro for unlimited words, Vaitly Meetings (beta) and Cloud Polish. Speech is transcribed on the PC and the audio is not uploaded; Pro’s AI features send text to Vaitly’s server. See Vaitly Meetings.
Updates are manual. There is no automatic updater yet, on Windows or the Mac, so a new version means coming back here and running the installer again. It keeps your settings, your vocabulary and your history.
Programs run as administrator are out of reach. Windows does not let an ordinary program type into an elevated window, so dictating into an administrator command prompt or Task Manager will do nothing at all. Everything else — Office, browsers, editors, chat — is fine.
64-bit Intel and AMD PCs only. Windows on ARM is not supported.
Deploying to a fleet of PCs? Write to sales@vaitlyvoice.com. There is no admin console or group policy yet, and we would rather say so than sell you one.
It looks like you're in the United States. The same app is on vaitlyvoice.com, priced in dollars for the United States.
