Superwhisper is a strong local-first product with modes, optional cloud models, Windows and iOS, and a high lifetime price. Power users like it for a reason.

VV is narrower: Mac, Apple Silicon, dictation as the whole product. Vocabulary and snippets share one on-device matcher. Transforms default to Apple Intelligence or Ollama, labelled if they leave. No account to start talking.

Choose Superwhisper if you need iPhone, custom modes against GPT, or file transcription in the same app. Choose VV if you want a calmer Mac dictation app that does not ask you to become a model engineer.
